Discounts on Online Shopping

Shopping Discount is a great way to cash in on the special offers made by companies and stores offering a whole range of products and services. Discounts range from gift certificates, bargain sales, clearances to free shipping offers to even free product offers. Also available are last minute hotel booking deals and online reservations. People who make their ticket reservations online benefit from a discounted rate as compared to people who book their tickets the traditional way by standing in queues at ticket counters. This is a great way to benefit from discounted rates.

One can purchase almost all kinds of products, online or offline. Because of the rising competition in the consumerist market today, companies want to gain a higher market-share and they offer discounts on all sorts of products and services. Discounts, are however, usually seen on products like food items, grocery items, clothing, consumer durables like mobile phones, electrical appliances, digital cameras, MP3 players, DVD players, services like body massaging, gym memberships, club and resort memberships, face toning, weight loss, etc. Some companies offer discounts on bulk purchases.

While discounted shopping may be available in online stores, gift certificates are usually less available on the internet. Besides, these are not seen on the official homepage of the company often. It is usually an online dealer who offers a lot of discounts.

Benefits of Discount Shopping:

By far, one of the biggest benefits of discount shopping is, of course, the kind of savings you can make on your purchases. Discount Shopping offers you cheap, cut-off prices on even branded products and services that you would otherwise have to spend a great deal more on. It could be that otherwise expensive birthday gift, dream camera, high definition LCD TV, etc. With discount shopping, you get it at discounted prices, and there is no compromise on quality or after sales services.

Be sure to avoid scams, though. Get a clear picture of the actual price – compare the discounted rate, inclusive of the shipping price, taxes and duties, etc. against the market price. Read the fine-print very carefully. Another important thing to remember is to make sure that you read and understand the vendor’s return and money-back policies. Be sure to read these terms very carefully.

Towards the end, we’d just like to tell you that all it takes is a couple of minutes to search and you could soon be saving a lot of money, and even time, if purchasing online. Do your research and act wisely to obtain the benefits.

Money Savings Tips for Travelers

Traveling can be a lot of fun as individuals or as a family. With the rising costs of gas prices, many of us stay close to home rather than traveling long distances to vacation hot spots.

I have been the marketing manager for a resort property for over 11 years. My primary responsibility is to market this establishment to attract new guests to stay with us as well as to entice repeat guests to join us again for another great getaway.

Many of us would love to enjoy a vacation but simply are not able to afford the cost for a room. I have listed a few ways to cut the costs and enjoy a much needed getaway for a fraction of the cost.

Coupons – Many motels participate in programs where you can receive two nights for the price of one night. Ask about these discounts when making your reservation. Check the motel’s website prior to calling to see if there are any specials listed online that must be mentioned prior to receiving the discount.

Corporate Rate – You can often receive an additional 10% off just for presenting your business card at a motel. Of course this depends on whether or not you are arriving during their peak season, but it certainly is worth asking about.

Military Discount – Some establishments will give a considerable price break for those serving in the military. You will need to present proper identification upon check-in so be prepared to do so.

AARP – Are you a senior citizen and a member of AARP? You are eligible for an additional 10% off your room rate at all participating motels.

Group Rates – Motels love groups and it is important to ask if there are any group rates available during the time you intend to arrive. If you are arriving during a time when the establishment does not intend to have occupancy, they may graciously extend a discount for your group. Certain requirements will apply and will vary.

Travel Midweek – It’s typical for motels to be very busy on the weekends and slower during the middle of the week. Try to travel Sunday – Thursday to receive the best deals. The rates are usually lower during the middle of the week. Combine this with a coupon or other discount and you are well on your way to savings.

Off-Season Specials – Check the local newspapers and travel websites for any specials the motel may be offering. Depending upon the location of the motel, you can get a great discount! For instance, take in a winter storm at the beach and you are certain to get a spectacular deal!

Mailing List – If you enjoyed your stay, ask the front desk if they have a mailing list. Perhaps they can mail you unadvertised specials or keep you posted of any savings coupons they may be offering.
Traveling doesn’t always have to break our pocketbook. If you take a moment to do your research prior to making your reservation, you will be well on your way to saving yourself some money.

Where can I get wholesale pricing on interior design goods?

I run a small interior design business, and up until recently never had the opportunity to select where the carpet, flooring, crown moulding, doors, would be purchased. This had been done by the architect or general contractor on past projects. The client has now given me permission to make these choices. This is good, as I can gain a commission on the sales of these materials, but I am wondering if I can get a lower cost as an interior designer from a wholesale company. Any advice?

You need to start calling the reps for the people who manufacturer these items–they may or may not sell to you–often they only want to sell in bigger quantities; but they can direct you to a wholesaler who will give you a % off retail. This network often takes years to cultivate so you are going to have to scramble to be able to offer the client a choice of products. You will need to set up wholesale accounts with each distributor as well–they will want a full application of business worth, bank recommendations (and I assume you have a resale license–if not you need one ASAP). You will need to keep excellent records and furnish Purchase orders and invoices to the companies. You will need to collect sales tax on each item (including your markup) and pay this to the state franchise tax board, so do not forget to add this into the purchase price you give to the client.

So lets look at an example: You want tile flooring: you like Dal Tile and Crossvile. You call the Crossville Rep, they do not sell to designers (only tile contractors) but they will tell you a secondary seller who will sell the tile to you for 40% above the base price Crossville sets–you can tack on 10% (usual) and still be 1/2 the price of retail. You want fabric for drapes; you contact multiple fabric manufacturers (say RM CoCo, Kaslen, and Sina Pearson). You make an application to do business with each. You find one you like and issue a purchase order with payment (pro forma); Kaslen sells to you at a "designer price" as published but you order several times and the rep gives you another 10% off, & they do not sell to the public at all; RM CoCo sells to you at 40% of retail and Sina Pearson sells to you at a set price as well, they do not sell retail at all. You must add sales tax to all because they do not collect any.

So, start looking at design magazines–the wholesalers are listed often in the back; and you call & ask to speak to the rep in your area, or the sales dept.

Simple Tips And Facts For Contact Lens Shoppers

If you’ve always wanted to change your eye color, color contact lenses can provide baby blues, gorgeous greens, heavenly hazels — even various patterns and designs. Contact lens sales are regulated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and the FTC (Federal Trade Commission.) In the U.S. contact lens marketplace, 82 percent wear soft lenses, 16 percent wear rigid gas-permeable and only 2 percent wear hard.

You’ll want to take simple precautions to make any lens purchase safe and effective. With a contact lens prescription in hand, it’s possible to buy your contact lenses from stores, the Internet, over the phone, or by mail.

If you live an active lifestyle, NIGHT & DAY breathable lenses will allow you 30 hours of continuous wear. Disposable lenses don’t come with instructions for cleaning and disinfecting, while those labeled specifically for planned replacement do. Contact lenses are often more complex than they appear to be.

Although easier to handle and less likely to tear, rigid gas permeable lenses are not as comfortable initially as soft contacts and it may take a few weeks to get used to wearing the RGPs, compared to just a few days for soft contacts. You can mark rigid lenses to show which lens is for which eye; they don’t rip or tear, so they’re easy to handle. There are several types of lenses including: soft contact lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses, extended wear lenses and disposables.

Bifocal correction is possible with both soft and rigid lenses. In some models, each lens corrects for near and distance vision and in others, one lens is for near vision, and the other is for distance. Soft lenses are easier to adjust and are much more comfortable than rigid lenses, because they conform to the eye and absorb and hold water.

It’s important for your eyes to have a rest, without lenses, for at least one night following each scheduled removal. Some doctors prescribe disposables as planned-replacement lenses, which are removed, disinfected, and reused before being discarded.

When you receive your order, if you think you’ve received an incorrect contact lens, check with your doctor or eye care professional right away; don’t accept any substitution unless your eye care professional approves it. Compare prices – get quotes from two or three online and offline suppliers. Always ask what rebates are available.

Wherever you buy, shop for quality and value and don’t forget you want to do what’s best for your eye health. If you have an insurance plan, the insurance plan’s seller’s prices may or may not be better than what you can find elsewhere; this should be just one option when you’re shopping for lenses. Rebates may be available from the seller, from the manufacturer, for first-time contact lens wearers and for individuals who buy lenses and get an eye exam.

There are many good contact lens retailers now on the Internet making their lenses available at a good discount for prescription and non-prescription lenses. You can buy contact lenses from an eye doctor, on the Internet, from an optical store or a warehouse club. Check out how long the online supplier has been in business before you buy.

Basic rule: never swap your contact lenses with anyone else. Microorganisms may be present in distilled water, so always use commercial sterile saline solutions, if you plan to use enzyme tablets in water for disinfections. Getting a proper fit is essential; contact lenses that are poorly fitted can lead to eyesores, eye inflammation, and eye abrasions.

Be aware that extended-wear (overnight) contact lenses – rigid or soft – increase the risk of corneal ulcers, which are infection-caused eruptions on the cornea that can lead to blindness; symptoms include vision changes, eye redness, eye discomfort or pain, and excessive tearing. Under the binding down of a rigid contact lens during sleep, the flow of tears and oxygen to the cornea is reduced; lack of oxygen leaves the eye vulnerable to infection. If your eyes become red or irritated, remove the lenses immediately and consult with your doctor.

Laser surgery and its risks can be frightening and too expensive for some people; contacts can provide a safe, comfortable and time-tested alternative. Make sure you’ve done your homework before you buy any pair of contact lenses. Remember to use only contact lenses that are FDA-approved and only if prescribed by a licensed eyecare professional.
